Desperate to sell, Ashley stuffs Newcastle United in Sports Direct clearance bin

In a last ditch effort to finally sell Newcastle United before Christmas, owner Mike Ashley chucked the club into the nearest Sport Direct clearance bin on Monday evening.

Such is Ashley’s desperation to rid himself of the club he’s been puking up in for the past 10 years, he is offering potential suiters the opportunity to stagger payments over time, an unprecedented move never before witnessed at a Sports Direct outlet.

Having overseen two relegations and successfully made enemies with everyone in the North East who isn’t a Sunderland fan, this will be the third time Ashley has tried to flog the club.

“Do I regret getting into football?” spluttered Ashley as he gulped down another pint of Tennents. “The answer is yes. I have had tonnes of fun in it but I haven’t been able to make the difference I wanted to in football.”

The billionaire ‘power drinker’ sighted his frustration at not being able to pay footballers below the minimum wage, refusal by some staff members to comply with strip searches after each and every game and Rafa Benitez continually beating him to the last slice of pie in the canteen as the reasons for putting the club up for sale.

  • Newcastle fans literally falling over themselves since Rafa’s arrival

Newcastle fans literally falling over themselves since Rafa’s arrival

    Mitrovic-fan-celebration
Rafa Benitez’ arrival at St James has had quite an effect on the Toon army’s general abilities to stay on their feet.

Following Mitrovic’s crucial equaliser in the Tyne-Wear derby, one Newcastle fan decided he would join the celebrations by giving the striker a big ‘ol hug after invading the pitch.

Clearly, The fan had not coordinated the celebration with Mitrovic before hand though, (a school boy error by my book) which resulted in a complete cock-up with the fan slipping on his arse.

“I’ll need time with the Geordie accent!” Rafa Benitez gives first Newcastle interview

    https://youtu.be/3BbIxUFpttk
Speaking for the first time since his surprise announcement as Newcastle United manager, Rafa Benitez has said that he and his coaching staff will need time to get use to the Geordie accent.

How much time? Well Benitez was handed a 3-year deal after Steve McClaren was given the boot following a dismal run of form that sees the Magpies languishing in 19th position in the league. However, it is over the next 10 games that will likely determine Benitez’ longer term future as I can’t see the former Real Madrid manager sticking around to scrap it out in the Championship next year.

As for Newcastle United fans, they are said to be “pinching themselves” after the appointment. “He’s got a good track record. Why not? Someone’s got to do it,” honked one fan with a rousing endorsement.

“You too, fat man!” Louis van Gaal has a pop at Journalist for criticising Rooney

Louis van Gaal rarely fails to entertain (unlike his team) during interviews with the media. And, following Manchester United’s 3-3 draw with Newcastle, in which his side squandered a two goal lead, van Gaal was his usual angry self as he rounded on a supposedly chubby journalist for having a go at Wayne Rooney.

“We don’t speak anymore about Rooney. You have criticised him. I don’t.” seethed Van Gaal as he left the interview, before rudely pointing at a Journalist and adding “You too, fat man!”

Watch van Gaal’s childish remark below.

Adam Armstrong here, trying his best to get the attentions of Steve McLaren with an audaious lob from close to the halfway line during Coventry City training.

The pint sized Newcastle forward on loan at Coventry has bagged an impressive 12 goals in 15 appearance for the League One side.

Ex-Spurs man Jermaine Jenas was reminiscing this morning about the time Arsene Wenger almost signed him as a replacement for the departing Patrick Viera. Yes, he actually said that.

After the deal apparently fell through due to Newcastle’s price tag being a little to steep and Wenger not being keen on “boozing English players,” Jenas eventually made his way to way to Arsenal’s North London rivals Spurs.

Jenas was then handed an Arsenal shirt with his name on the back which he promptly used to wipe his nose on. Watch below.
