If only, if only this were true. Chelsea are desperate to get their hands on John Stones who is seen as the long term replacement for captain John Terry. Having had multiple bids rejected by Everton, with the latest bid thought to be around £45,000,000,000,000,000 Chelsea are looking as though they might actually be thwarted in the attempts to exchange huge mountains of money for young talent.
Everton’s valiant attempts to resist all bids left their fans feeling pretty smug with themselves which lead to them chanting a Stones inspired cover of the Beetles song “Can’t buy me love” which you can watch above.
With the transfer set to slam shut on Tuesday, don’t be surprised too see this chant come back to haunt the Everton fans. Money might not be able to buy love, but it can definitely buy John Stones.
