OFFICIAL: Frank Lampard joins Manchester City on loan
Frank Lampard has joined Manchester City ahead of his debut season with affiliate club New York City.
Lampard was recently unveiled as New York City FC’s fourth signing. After meetings with manager Manuel Pellegrini at City’s New York headquarters, it was decided that Frank will train and play with the Premier League champions ahead of teaming up with Jason Kreis’ New York City set-up for their inaugural season.
He will train with his Manchester City colleagues this morning for the first time and will be registered to the Club and be available for selection.

Howard Webb retires from refereeing
Howard Webb MBE has been appointed Technical Director of Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL). In taking up the newly created position brings to an end his distinguished 25-year refereeing career.
As Technical Director, Webb will be responsible for overseeing the technical direction and standards that govern the on-field performance of PGMOL’s match officials. He will manage the PGMOL training programme and coaching system and will work extensively on the successful development programme that provides a pathway for referees from Level 3 through to the Select Group.
OFFICIAL: Liverpool complete Manquillo loan move
Liverpool FC have today completed the loan signing of Spanish youth international Javier Manquillo from La Liga champions Atletico Madrid.
An athletic right-back, the 20-year-old’s career began at academy level with Real Madrid before a switch to Atletico in 2007, while Manquillo has represented his country at various youth levels.
The Madrid-born defender is the seventh new recruit by Brendan Rodgers this summer, following Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Emre Can, Lazar Markovic, Dejan Lovren and Divock Origi in joining the Reds

Northern Ireland v Mexico game abandoned after player kicked in the head
An Under 20’s Milk Cup match between Nothern Ireland and Mexico was abandoned last night after a Mexican player appeared to try a Kick a N.I. player in the head.
Four players were sent off which included three for Mexico and one for Northern Ireland after the violence erupted towards the end of the game.
