James Rodriguez insists on signing pitch invaders shirt as security men swarm
This is becoming a bit of a trend. A couple of weeks back Ronaldinho signed a pitch invaders shirt during a game for his new side Querétaro in the Mexican League. Last night, during Colombia’s 1-0 win over Canada another opportunistic pitch invader ran onto the field to get his shirt signed by James Rodriguez. Rodriguez was only too happy to oblige the young fan, even fending off security men to scribble his signature on the fans shirt just before he was subbed.
Seems Rodriguez can do no wrong currently, and is sure to endear himself with fans even more so after this latest stunt. He even got the winner, a quickly taken free kick from 25 yards out!
Disturbing footage of the drone and resulting mass brawl during Serbia – Albania game
A pretty awful day for Football. Players from Serbia and Albania engage in a mass brawl after a drone flying an Albanian flag over the pitch interrupted play. Stefan Mitrović jumped and caught the flag and proceeded to pull it down, which moments later sparked the brawl as seen in the fan footage above.
Once the players were separated, and some sense of control was regained, the match was abandoned and the Albanian players quickly retreated down the tunnel to take refuge while being pelted with objects. Credit to Aleksandar Kolarov as he tried to protect the last Albanian player donw the tunnel.
The below fan footage shows the drone entering the stadium and hovering above the pitch. This triggers flairs and eventually the suspension of play.
Serbia v Albania game abandoned after drone drops Albanian flag on pitch
Not something you see everyday. Play had to be stopped and ultimately abandoned after a drone flew over the Serbia v Albania match flying an Albanian flag.
The game was always going to be a tense affair, and as you can see from the footage the Albania players took umbrage with Stefan Mitrović when he caught the flag and began taking it down. After that, all hell seems to be brake loose.
