Speaking at Soccerex, a global football convention being held in Manchester, former striker Michael Owen responded to a question about the abuse he receives on social media.
As you’d expect, Owen, in his notoriously unenthusiastic way, dished out sage advice for anyone else suffering abuse on twitter that was riddled with cliches. Owen, insisted you have to be ‘thick skinned’, and take the criticism with a ‘pinch of salt.’
With such a dull response, there is now probably a gaggle of twitter users ready to unleash a torrent of abuse in Owen’s direction. Let just hope he’s got the salt at hand.
