Spurs fans will be wincing and tutting to themselves today, after seeing their former striker Roberto Soldado – so goal shy at White Hart Lane – take just half an hour to get on the score sheet for his new side Villarreal.
After not once but twice failing to kick a ball into the Villarreal crowd during his unveiling earlier in the week, Soldado finally restored some semblance of respect with a well taken strike against Betis.
Soldado’s goal went on to earn his side a point after Villarreal kicked off their La Liga campaign with a 1-1 draw at Betis.
If Soldado carries on in this kind of form, expect a big money move to the Premier League in the offing very soon!
