Ever since that now infamous slip by Steven Gerrard against Chelsea, Liverpool have gone from playing some scintillating football to struggling in the league while Brendan Rodgers’ position becomes under more scrutiny each passing day.
Pundits and fans alike have speculated as to the reasons for Liverpool’s dramatic turn in fortunes. Was it down to losing their world class striker Luis Suarez? Perhaps, the prolonged injury of Daniel Sturridge? Their summer transfer business? No, no, none of these.
According to a former UKIP candidate, Paul Rimmer, Liverpool’s failures are down to the clubs sponsorship of gay pride in 2012.
The right wing nut posted the below on facebook:
“From the Bible, Sodomy defiles a Nation. Those who promote it will be punished & vomited out of the Land. In 2012 Liverpool FC sponsored the City’s Gay Pride Parade. Unless they repent they will be under a continual curse.
“Everyone knows homosexuality is wrong, but now we have to pretend its nice and normal and anyone who points out it’s a perversion is evil. This is a deep moral and spiritual sickness in our nation.”
“Liverpool were amazing last year, but the title was denied them.”
Obviously, the next time Brendan Rodgers is in need of some insightful answers to Liverpool’s woes, he’ll know where to turn.
