Zinedine Zidane ‘heads’ for the Real Madrid hot seat after Rafa is axed

So, after just 7 months Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has wield the axe once again and his given Rafa Benitez the chop with Zinedine Zidane taking over.

Benitez took charge of only 25 matches winning 17, drawing 5 and losing 3 while sitting 3rd in La Liga. A good record, but one that won over few admirers as demonstrated by Real Madrid fans booing Benitez name as it was announced over the PA during a recent clash with Real Sociedad.

After being unveiled by Perez, Zidane took to the stand to speak for the first time as Real Madrid manager: “This is an important day for me” soothed a sharp looking Zidane dressed in a blue tailored suit, adding “I’m more excited now than I was on the day I signed as a player”
