Walter De Gregorio resigns days after making FIFA police joke

You just knew Walter De Gregorio had a good sense of humour when on the day that the FIFA corruption scandal broke, he pronounced it to be “a good day for FIFA”.

On Thursday the communications chief announced that he was to leave FIFA with immediate effect. This sudden announcement came just days after De Gregrio told the following joke on TV:

“Sepp Blatter, myself and Jérôme Valcke are in a car. Who’s driving?

“The Police!“

Budum, tssk!

Though in German (I think) You can watch the video of Walter De Gregorio delivering his comic brilliance in the video above.
