Andy Carroll put in a formidable man of the match performance against Arsenal on Saturday, scoring a hat-trick as the hammers came from 2-0 down to rescue a point at the Boleyn ground. The thrilling game eventually ended 3-3 with West Ham just about keeping their hopes of Champions League football alive.
And, judging by the smile on the little nipper’s face below, no one was more happier with Carroll’s hat-trick than his baby. That is unless Roy Hodgson has been equally impressed and is hastily trying to figure out if he has room for a burly striker in his England squad.
Following his hat-trick, where the big man seemed to be dominating Arsenal players just for the shear fun of it at times, Carroll now has more Premier League goals this season than Theo Walcott, Danny Welbeck and Daniel Sturridge, while he is level with Wayne Rooney on 7 goals.
Do I think Carroll should be boarding the Eurostar? No. In Vardy, Kane and Rooney England are well stocked. Do I think Hodgson will be tempted to include him as a plan b? Absolutely. When England are starring down the barrel of defeat after scrapping through the group stage, Hodgson will thrown on the big man to wreak some havoc.
