“Enough is enough, enough is enough, you greedy bastards, enough is enough!!”
That was the very clear message Liverpool some fans sang as they walked out of Anfield in protest at the rising ticket prices during their game against Sunderland.
As planned, in reference to the new £77 priced ticket at Anfield, on the 77th minute, a good portion of Liverpool fans walked out, leaving sizeable patches of empty seats around the stadium.
Unfortunately for Liverpool, their defence decided to join the fans by walking out on 77 minutes as they gave up what looked like a comfortable 2-0 lead to Sunderland. Hopefully that turn of events won’t put Liverpool fans off walking out in any possible future protests. Yes, a half empty stadium could have an adverse effect on a teams performance, but that is a price – no pun intended – and a risk Liverpool fans need to be willing to take if they are to force a change from the money gaugers up stairs.
This was a start from Liverpool fans, but it will need more fans to get involved. If they really won’t to make a mark, next time they need to leave on 7mins and 7 seconds.
Below are some of the videos and pictures of Liverpool’s walk out.
