I call this the “Stamp on a player when no one is looking, but make it look like you’re just casually getting up” technique. Admittedly the name of the technique needs work, it needs to be more snappy. Huh, Snappy! That will do, The Snappy!
Espanyol’s keeper Pau Lopez tried to administer the Snappy during his sides Copa del Rey clash with Barcelona. Unfortunately for Lopez, who must be an amateur when it comes to using the Snappy, failed miserably and here is how. 1. He gives away his intentions with a knowing look at the limb he is about to stamp on, thus completely undermining the idea of making it look like a casual, honest mistake. 2. By targeting one of the World’s best player, Lopez guaranteed that many, many people would indeed be looking. 3. If you insist on apply the Snappy on the oppoistions best player, probably a good idea to do it before he scores a stunning free kick against you.
