Vladimir Putin was in peak trolling form on Thursday when he suggested that the disgraced suspended FIFA head suit Sepp Blatter should win the Nobel Piece Prize.
“Blatter is a very reputable person who has contributed greatly to the development of modern football” sniffed Putin before adding: “He has always tried to use football, not just for sport, but as a tool for fostering co-operation between people. He is the one who should get the Nobel Peace Prize”.
Presumably, no one told Putin that about the criminal investigation circling Blatter and that there is no need to suck up to uncle Sepp anymore. If Putin is worried about being stripped of the World Cup in Russia, he’d be better off schmoozing and nominating the acting FIFA president Issa Hayatou. Oh wait, he’s also been accused of corruption as well.
