What the hell is a ‘punching ball’?
Following the news that he and Michel Platini have been banned from football activities for 8 years, Sepp ‘Nelly’ Blatter was full of the exact kind of contrition you would expect from a bumbling, resentful and embittered relic on his last legs.
This was quintessential Blatter: the non-apology, apology.
And, it’s likely the closest we are ever to get to an apology from Blatter. I for one won’t be taking a rest from the ‘punching ball’ anytime soon.
