Mateo Kovacic puts foot in mouth by speaking Catalan during Madrid unveiling
Following his switch from Inter Milan to Real Madrid, Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovacic was introduced to the assembled Madrid press for what should have been a routine unveiling.
Kovacic, however had other ideas. And his first words to his new people of Madrid were “Bon dia a tots”, (Catalan for good day everyone) delivered with a beaming smile that suggested Kovacic was very pleased with his introduction, but obviously had no idea of the faux par he had just committed.
Fortunately for Kovacic, after a couple of seconds of awkward silence, he continued the rest of the interview in English.

Borussia Dortmund overcame a scare last night after coming back from 3 goals down to win 4-3 in their Europa League qualifier with Norwegian side Odd.
Odd’s pacey winger Rafik Zekhnini caused plenty of problems for their German opponents, and Mats Hummels was quick to heap praise on the player in his post match interview.
At the end of the interview Hummels is shocked to learn that the winger he faced was only 17-years-old. “Really? 17-years-old? What the fuck!” exclaimed the potty mouthed Hummels.
