“It’s not about you Mike!” Garth Crooks’ epic rant after ref sends off Gabriel

And he were all thinking Garth Crooks was such a nice, reserved man.

Pundit Garth Crooks got a bit flustered talking about Mike Dean’s performance during Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Arsenal which saw the ref sending off both Garbiel and Cazorla.

Crooks’ anger builds as he goes through a speech which at one point verges on a personal address to Dean – the only thing missing was for him to sit and face the camera, and fully direct his fury at the ref.

“People pay good money for this” fumed Crooks, adding “not for you to get overly officious like a petulant school teacher!”

Consider yourself officially put on notice Mr. Dean.

“I wouldn’t like to be Mike Dean tonight” Arsene Wenger left fuming after Costa’s antics

“He acts like a petulant baby!” Rio Ferdinand spits the dummy over Costa

After what had been a relatively quite and uneventful first half between Chelsea and Arsenal, suddenly descended into chaos with Diego Costa the principle instigated.

Having taken a couple of swipes at Laurent Koscielny and gotten away with it, Costa then exchanged verbals with Gabriel before the latter got sent off for what looked like a pretty innocuous coming together.

Maybe so, but Gabriel fell for Costa’s antics hook, line and sinker.

Back in October 1996 Southampton pulled off an eye cathcing 6-3 win against would be champions Manchester United at the Dell.

Matt Le Tissier produced the pick of the bunch, turning a couple of United defenders before lobbing a typically nonchalant effort over the head of a hapless Peter Schmeichel from the edge of the box. Of the goal, Le Tissier would later casually reflect: “It might scrape into my top 10”

You could argue that the 6-3 win wasn’t too much of a surprise as Southampton had form on United going into the tie. Back in April that same year, Saints managed a 3-1 win over United after the infamous grey kit fiasco.

The two sides meet again this Sunday at St. Mary’s.
