  • Robert Earnshaw produces just about the worst free kick you could wish to see

Robert Earnshaw produces just about the worst free kick you could wish to see

This is a truly spectacular effort from Vancouver’s Robert Earnshaw vs Seattle. From a good 35 yards out, Earnshaw connects with the ball as hard as little legs will allow. Unfortunately, Earnshaw is left red faced as his hoofed free kick takes an immediate upward trajectory into orbit.

    [Insert Rugby related joke here.]

If you’ve seen a worse free kick than this, we’d like to see it. As always, entries on a postcard.

  • Gremio’s Douglas takes a leak on the Maracana pitch surrounded by a team huddle

Gremio’s Douglas takes a leak on the Maracana pitch surrounded by a team huddle

Well, nothing gets your team geed up for a match more than forming a huddle while one player takes a knee and proceeds to urinate on the pitch. This was the thinking behind Gremio’s Douglas as he marked his territory on the Maracana pitch by cocking a leg and letting a stream of urine trickle out from his shorts.

Unfortunaltey for Douglas, the pre match ritual didn’t prove to have the desired motivational affect as Gremio played out an uneventful 0-0 draw with Fluminense in the Copa do Brazil.

Perhaps for Douglas, when nature calls, everything else takes a back seat, even if that means taking a piss at the most inopportune time. Much like this fan found out when he popped to the porter cabin, only to miss a goal.
