    Admittedly, Angel di Maria’s moments of magic while at Old Trafford could probably be counted on one hand. At the Parc des Princes however, Angel di Maria looks to have recaptured the kind of form expected of him, and his pass for Edinson Cavani to clinch a 2-1 win in PSG’s first leg Champions League tie with Chelsea oozed class.

    So, it turns out Shaquille O’Neal is a big fan of Northampton Town. At least that’s the impression he was aiming to give off during a rather random personal shout out to the League 2 side via their official youtube channel today.

    The big man, looking like he had just rolled out of bed and by no means appearing to be reading from a script, addressed team Cobblers. “I know what it takes to win Championships” trumpeted Shaq, “You gotta make sure you finish strong, and do not give up that intensity.”

    Shaq insisted he was looking forward to coming to Sixfields to watch a game at “some point” and shamelessly signed off by plugging his radio station, proving we’ve reached new levels in the race to commercialise every single facet of football.

    Russian side Rubin Kazan took on Amkar in friendly over in Spain during the weekend, and proved they’d go to pretty extreme measures to secure a win.

    Harnessing mother nature, Kazan tried to literal move the goal posts as their keeper attempted a goal kick.

    The wind assisted tactics didn’t go unnoticed however, and, watched over by a keen-eyed referee, a couple of players were forced into begrudgingly moving the goal posts back to their rightful positions.
