“Where were you when we were sh*t?” ask Chelsea fans of their own team

Fair point really. After sacking Jose Mourinho in the week following an abysmal defence of their title, the Chelsea players were full of pep as they took on Sunderland at Stamford Bridge.

Within 13 minutes, Chelsea were zipping around the pitch and found themselves 2-0, with their second goal scored by Pedro – his first since his debut on the opening day of the season against West Brom.

This was simply too much for Chelsea fans to take. How dare they play with the ‘we’ve just got our manager sacked’ spring in their step. So, the Chelsea fans then serenaded their players with the chant: “Where were you when we were sh*t?”

    Where indeed.

Watch the Chelsea fans chant below.

Tony Pulis makes heartfelt apology for playing long balls vs Liverpool

    Snap!!

With Jose Mourinho barely having enough time to pull over his hoodie after being unceremoniously dumped out of English football, it looks as though West Brom’s Tony Pulis is already stepping into the breach to provide us with a daily dose of sarcasm.

After Jurgen Klopp bemoaned West Brom’s style of play following the 2-2 draw at Anfield last weekend which climaxed in a bit of verbal jousting between the German and his opposite number, Pulis today hit back with a level of sarcyness that Jose would be proud of.

“We played 3 more long ball passes than Liverpool in those 99 minutes” scoffed Pulis, before unerringly looking down the camera lens to seemingly address his nemesis directly, and adding “So, we as a football club, apologise to Liverpool.”

  • Christmas comes early as Mourinho unwraps £12m gift after sacking

Christmas comes early as Mourinho unwraps £12m gift after sacking

Well, ’tis the season. After just 7 months on from winning the Premier League title, Chelsea have binned Jose Mourinho putting the manager out of his misery following a string of bad results.

To help soften the blow, Jose Mourinho will receive a payoff in the region of £12m. Despite the sizeable sum, Roman Abramovic is now presuambly scratched off the Mourinho Christmas list.

For Chelsea fans in mourning that “one of theirs” is no longer one of theirs, they can take comfort in the speculation surrounding the potential managers who could take the Chelsea hot seat.

This guy has already had his feet under the table once before.

And then, after a couple of years or so of interim and ill fated appointments, they can go back in for this guy. Third time lucky and all that.

After Jurgen Klopp’s Dortmund-inspired – if slightly awkward – thanking of the Kop after his side rescued a dramatic point against West Brom deep in injury time, perhaps it’s time Liverpool fully embraced Klopp’s style. They could do worse than bringing out some Christmas themed cheer of their own. Tis the season after all.
