Manchester United book their place in the next round of the FA Cup following a 3-1 win away at Derby on Friday evening.

Daley Blind and Juan Mata’s goals sealed the win for United, but it was Wayne Rooney who got the ball rolling with a sublime effort to open the scoring.

“Awful and horrible!” Just who has upset poor old Louis van Gaal now?

Once again Louis van Gaal has come out swinging during a press conference this afternoon and it was no surprise that it was the media on the receiving end of it.

Addressing speculation that he had offered to resign after the defeat at home to Southampton, van Gaal refused to comment on the stories saying that they were “awful and horrible”, a description that could easily mistaken for some of United’s play this season.

This is not the first time Louis van Gaal has had a pop at the media, just last week he ended a press conference by calling a journalist a “fat man”.

Once again, Joe Allen turned out to be the hero for Liverpool, as they booked their place in the League Cup final following a penalty shoot out win over Stoke at Anfield on Tuesday evening.

Stoke had levelled up the tie on aggregate after Marko Arnautović scored the only goal of the second leg, albeit from an offside position.

Tomorrow Liverpool will find out who they will face in the final when Manchester City take on Everton in the second leg of the other semi-final.

At some point, you’ve probably be treated to the often ridiculous trend of a relative or friend sending you pictures of their baby featuring in some bizarre photo shoot. Well, turns out Wesley Sneijder is not immune to this compulsion and might just have come up with the baby video to top all baby videos.

The Galatasaray play maker posted a video on Instagram with his adorable tot Xess Xava Sneijder placed inside the Champions League trophy, a competition Sneijder Snr. won during his days with Inter Milan.

Keen to apparently protect his son from the crazed paparazzi, Sneijder’s captions says: “One day you will hold this cup like I did.”

No pressure then Xess Xava, no pressure at all.

Hannover’s novel solution to relegation gives Villa glimmer of hope

Sat at the foot of the table, and having just lost their fourth Bundesliga game in a row, Hannover have come up with a creative solution to stave off the threat of relegation.

The key here is simplicity. No appointment of a new manager, no innovative tactic or a string of new signings to help the out of the mire. No no, just do this to the table instead, and everything looks far more rosy:

A genius solution that Remi Garde is said to be ecstatic about and is already feverishly implementing, as seen below.

Slow-mo footage of sheer unbridled joy from Jurgen Klopp celebrating winner vs Norwich

When it comes to celebrating goals and expressing ones emotions on the touch line, Jurgen Klopp might just be setting the standard. However, following the madness that was Liverpool’s 5-4 win over Norwich at Carrow Road on Saturday, Klopp might have just outdone himself celebrating the winner.

Having comeback from 3-1 to make it 4-3 to the Reds, the game looked like it was going to finally settle on what would have been a deserved draw for both sides thanks to Bassong’s injury time goal that made it 4-4. However, Liverpool somehow managed to knick the win with pretty much the last kick of the ball thanks to Adam Lallan’s bouncer of a volley only seconds later.

Spark the wild celebrations, as Klopp went full Klopp celebrating with his Liverpool players on the pitch.

Barcleona have released some rare footage of Lionel Messi as a young pup, proving that even back then as a 17-year-old he could effortlessly run past defenders as though they’re not there.

It’s well worth watching the whole clip during which Messi bags a superb assist and a goal in a Barca B derby vs Espanyol. The highlight though? Probably watching Messi drop the shoulder on a couple of defenders before one decides he’s had enough and unceremoniously chops the teenager down. Even then, they couldn’t stop him.

Goals from Joe Allen, Joao Carlos Teixiera and Sheyo Ojo ensured Liverpool blushes were spared after they progressed to the next round of the FA Cup, on the second time of asking during their replay with Exeter.

Once again, lumbering centre forward Christian Benteke struggled (you know it’s bad when even Micky Owen is piling on!) and his ineffectiveness was only hightened by the apparent ease in which youngster Ojo took his goal.

Cutting in on his left foot, Ojo found a pocket of space in the Exeter box, got his head up then nonchalantly curled it into the top corner. I hope you are taking note Christian.

Manchester United fans haven’t had much to cheer and get excited about of late when it comes to entertainment on the pitch. And it was looking like that theme was set to continue until their Captain Wayne Rooney lashed home a late volley at Anfield on Sunday to pinch all three points.

It was United’s first and only shot on target during a dull affair between the old rivals. But that’s a stat United fans can choose to care about on another day. Seeing your captain grab the winner on enemy soil is still cause for wild celebrations, if the rowdy bunch in the video below is anything to go by.

Save of the season? Handanovic pulls of ridiculous save for Inter

Inter Milan keeper Samir Handanovic secured a point – and with it, possibly the save of the season – as his side drew 1-1 with Atalanta on Saturday.

From point-blank range, Handanovic somehow manages to save what looked like a certain goal, which could prove crucuial as Inter try to maintain their Serie A title credentials.
