Finally strutting his stuff in a France shirt, Dimitri Payet proved he is just as lethal from dead ball situations on the international scene as he is for West Ham in the Premier League.

During France’s 4-2 friendly win over Russia on Tuesday evening, Payet scored with yet another trade mark free kick. From a good 30 yards out, Payet whipped his free kick into the top corner, pinging off the wood work on it’s way in.

Watch multiple angles of Payet’s free kick captured from the stands below.

    Dele-Alli-goal-Palace

The Premier League have compiled their top 10 goals of the season so far, and there are some real beauties in there.

My favourite is still Matt Richie’s incredible volley for Bournemouth followed closely by Dele Alli’s Gascoigne-like finish vs Palace.

What do you think? Who is missing from the list?

    Das ist der VARDY PARTY!!

Yes, yes, yes, following England’s brilliant comeback against Germany in a meaningless friendly ahead of the Euro’s, the hype machine, inevitably, is in full swing. But how often do you get to see a player in England colours pull off the kind of finish Jamie Vardy executed on Saturday? These types of finishes are normally reserved for the more flamboyant and daring talents that line up against England. It’s just not British.

It is for this reason that I’m allowing myself to indulge, at least temporarily in the hype. After all, there could be a long wait before you see another finish from an England player as sublime as Vardy’s.

Enjoy behind the goal footage of Vardy’s finish in all it’s slow-motion glory below.

Juventus’ Paul Pogba put the disappointment of crashing out of the Champions League to Bayern in the week with a superbly struck free kick during his sides 4-1 away win over Torino on Sunday.

From a good 25 yards out Pogba’s free kick flew beyond the grasp of the Torino keeper to open the scoring in the Turin derby. Further goal from Sami Khedira and a brace from Alvaro Morata sealed the win.

If you’re going to push aside your clubs best free kick taker, you better make sure you have the goods to deliver. Cesc Fabregas proved he can match Willian’s in the free kick stakes with a tasty effort that sailed into the top corner vs West Ham on Saturday during Chelsea’s 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.

Fabregas also got Chelsea’s second after converting from the spot.

It takes some nerves of steel to pull of as audacious of a finish as this.

Having fallen behind to a Anthony Martial penalty, and looking desperate for half time Liverpool snatched a crucial goal in the second leg of their Europa tie at Old Trafford through a moment of pure magic from Coutinho.

Stepping in from the left wing, Coutinho dropped the shoulder on Verela before cooly lifting the ball over David de Gea from an acute angle.

What a run this is from Alvaro Morata during Juventus’ 2nd leg Champions League clash against Bayern Munich.

Starting deep inside his own half Morata breezes past several Bayern defenders before feeding the ball to Juan Cuadrado who keeps his cool to give Juventus a surprise two goal lead over Bayern at the Allianz.

Watch Morata and Cuadrado combining to devastating effect below.

    What a strike.

Dimitri Payet whipped home a superb trademark free kick as West Ham earned a replay against Manchester United after the FA Cup quarter final ended 1-1 at Old Trafford.

And to think, this guy can’t get into the French national team.

After the game, former Man United man Paul Scholes was critical of David de Gea. “I think de Gea should save Payet’s free kick.” Sure Paul, sure.

Watch Payet’s goal below and decide for yourself if Scholes is talking utter bollocks. Hint, he is.

Watford are on their way to Wembley after a 2-1 win over Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon thanks to an unstoppable strike from Adlène Guedioura.

With Watford already a goal up, Guedioura doubled his sides lead by hitting a ball harder than a ball has ever been hit before. Even in slow motion the ball doesn’t slow down as it flies into the top corner.

A late Arsenal rally lead by Danny Welbeck threatened to take the tie into extra time but Watford just about hung on.

  • Diego Costa sees red after giving Gareth Barry a love bite

Diego Costa sees red after giving Gareth Barry a love bite

    Diego-Costa-bie-Gareth-Barry

Well, finally, after much perseverance Diego Costa has managed to get himself sent off in English football.

After Romelu Lukaku had ended all hope of any cheer this season for Chelsea with two superbly taken goals, it all got a bit too much for a typically combative Diego Costa. Having already clashed with Gareth Barry several times throughout the FA Cup tie, Costa reacted to a robust challenge from the Everton midfielder by squaring up to him and planting a love bit on his neck before embracing in a cuddle. The love bite must have worked as Gareth Barry was soon searching out Costa in the changing rooms after getting his second book of the day moments later.

All rather sweet really, and not how you might imagine Costa’s first red card would pan out. It must have been the “romance of the cup.”

    Watch Costa’s love bite below.
