Kevin De Bruyne gave Manchester City the lead over Bournemouth with a cheeky daisy cutter of a free kick.

After the on loan Jack Wilshere gave away a needless free kick on the edge of the box, De Bruyne further punished Bournemouth by fooling the defensive wall, sweeping his strike along the ground leaving Boruc rooted to the spot.

EPLpod: Return to sender – The expensive joke that is David Luiz

I join Mike and Paul in the EPLpod studio as we take in the movers and shakers from a busy transfer deadline day which saw spending reach £1.1bn!!

David Luiz has returned to Chelsea for an encore seemingly because they had failed with their first and second preferred targets and just had to throw £34m pounds at something that vaguely resembles a defensive reinforcement. Jack Wilshere, unlike Joe Hart decided he didn’t fancy a sabbatical in Italy and is instead off on a jolly to the south coast. And Leicester, Burnley and Sunderland all broke their transfer records while Everton were left with out a date for the dance after Moussa Sissoko stood them up in favour of Spurs.

EPLpod: Will naughty Aguero miss the Manchester Derby?

It’s a party atmosphere in the EPLpod studio as I join Mike and Paul to take in the weekends action of Premier League football, which saw Sergio Aguero dishing out the kind of physicality that Marouane Fellaini would be proud, Chelsea managed back to back home wins for the first time in donkeys years and Spurs and Liverpool were happy to share the spoils at Whitehart Lane. Oh and Arsenal fans are finally rejoicing after thrifty Arsene Wenger finally opened up his wallet.

  • Liverpool fans, fancy a pint with a virtual Bill Shankly?

Liverpool fans, fancy a pint with a virtual Bill Shankly?

    Bill-Shankly-Liverpool-Anfield
Liverpool legend Bill Shankly can now take his rightful place alongside celebrities such as Tupac Shakur who have had their fame thoroughly exploited after being immortalised in a rather questionable looking virtual reality video.

Yes, that’s right, you can now have a virtual Bill join you as you sit and drink pints with your mates down the pub! Just don’t expect him to be getting the next round in any time soon.

Speaking to the BBC, ex Liverpool players gave their thoughts on the virtual version of their former boss. “It’s just fantastic when you think of the great man” purred Ian Callaghan before Chris Lawler gave a more sober response admitting it was all a bit eerie.

Football a matter of life and death? No, it’s about milking it of every last drop.

Watch a virtual Bill Shankly in the video below.
